I’m a travel blogger and a foodie, that’s what most of you know about me. But there’s more to me than my life on social media and my experiences I share with you on my blog. Get to know me by checking out these 10 fun facts you’ve never heard me talk about before.

1. I have a deep love for waterfalls.

If I could I would visit every waterfall in this world. There’s something really spiritual about waterfalls. I’ve been to Niagara Falls (U.S.) and I’ve visited several waterfalls in Iceland. I’m hoping to visit Victoria Falls in Zambia in the next two years.

2. I’m a wife and mother of two children.

I know it might be surprising to some, but yes, I am married with children. And yes, I travel without them at times. I’m definitely not living the average life of an “Instagram travel blogger”, but I love the life I live and the family that supports and sustains me.

3. I currently teach at a Community College.

I’ve been lucky enough to get my dream job working in higher education. As a full-time professor in Early Care and Education I’ve been able to inspire my students to become teachers, administrators and specialists in the field of education.

4. I’ve always been passionate about photography (These are from H.S.)!

Photography has always been in my veins. My mom modeled this for me early on. She has been the church photographer for years, always using the best camera equipment and lenses. I remember my first Kodak disposable camera, I went crazy taking photos of clouds and skyscrapers. I even entered a photography contest back when I was in H.S.

5. I’ve always dreamed of living by the ocean.

Living by the ocean has always been important to me. If you asked me where I wanted to live when I was a child, I would say “by the water”. I always felt free near the ocean and definitely have a dream of spending my old age by the ocean.

6. History/Social Studies were my favorite subjects in school.

To this day I can still spend hours watching the history channel and visiting museums because learning about these subjects has always be fun and fascinating to me.

7. I hold a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education.

Proud of myself for completing my graduate degree at a young age. It opened a lot of doors personally and professionally. The best part is I’ve been able to land my dream job working at the college level, something I’ve wanted to do for many years.

8. I grew up in New York City (The Bronx to be exact!)

Growing up in the Bx shaped me in so many ways. It’s amazing how you never realize what you have until it’s gone. I never realized how special my neighborhood was until I moved out to the suburbs and didn’t have it anymore. The convenience of living in the city that never sleeps, never gets old.

9. I love to bake.

Baking comes naturally to me. Growing up my mom always baked cakes for my birthday and taught me how to cook and bake at a young age. Of course as life took over, I worked full time, completed my graduate degree and raised children, forgetting about my passion for baking. I started baking again three years ago and have been on a roll. It’s even more fun when the kids get involved. You’ll find recipes here on my blog, let me know if you have any specific requests.

10. I can play the clarinet.

It’s been a few years, but I played the clarinet in Middle School and High School.
