It’s Aright to Want Time for Yourself:

After an incredible year filled with ups and downs and uncertainty it’s alright to want time for yourself. What I have learned from the unpredictable year and a half we’ve had as a global community, it that nothing is guaranteed, including tomorrow. It is best to do the things you want to do today because there may not be a tomorrow, next week or next year to come. With this is mind I find myself needing a self-care weekend every now and again. If you are interested in some ideas for engaging in self-care, keeping reading. Remember, self-care doesn’t have to involve spending money or going out. It looks different for everyone.

Self-Care with a Massage:

When my body becomes tense and I’ve spent enough time working and running around with my children, a massage at massage envy works for me like a charm. I usually get the basic massage that comes with my $70 monthly membership. This is what works for me and my budget and ensures I am able to get one massage a month that lasts for 60 minutes.

Champagne Facial, Anyone?:

I will be honest when I heard about this champagne facial, I really thought my face would be washed with champagne. No judgement, I only recently began having facials. I didn’t realize there were so many different options available. My go-to place for facials has to be Savor Spa in Greenwich Village, New York City. As Greenwich Village is my home away from home, I was happy to find a trusted aesthetician in this neighborhood.

Brunch Like You Mean It:

A healthy brunch always makes things feel right. One of my new favorite places to brunch alone is Café Cluny located in Greenwich Village. The smoked salmon and bagel was a treat and the creamy granola with fruits left me feeling satisfied and ready for the day. The service here is a dream and the space is like something out of a Parisian movie.

Self-Care by Going Solo to a Museum:

There is nothing wrong with visiting a museum solo. Being a member of Museum of Modern Art in New York City, I visit several times a year. And many times I am there alone. Walking around and viewing the numerous Picasso’s and Monet’s they have available. I am able to walk around in my own thoughts thinking about the art and people-watching.
