Step 1

Clean the dust off of your plants so they can absorb the nutrients they should be getting from the sun. Be gentle with the plants, give them a refreshing spritz. Remove any dead leaves that might be in the pot as well.

Step 2

Move the plants closer to windows. Clean the windows for optimal light. Rotate plants at the window to make sure other plants are getting the same amount of light throughout the winter months.

Step 3

Check for pests and root rot. Neglecting this can dash your hopes for having indoor plants that flourish. I’ve lost several plants over this so take it from me. Check on them at least weekly, make sure you’re not overwatering which causes root rot and you’re checking there are no infestations.

Step 4

Use LED plant lights, these can be used to give plants the light they need during dark winter months. If you live in an area where there is limited light from windows, get yourself a LED Light for Indoor Plants.

Step 5

Water when needed. This can be tricky so get yourself on a schedule. We know over-watering can cause root rot, so make sure you are keeping plants hydrated but not overwatering.
