Episode 12 focuses on educational tourism. Including what it is, and how it might be the path to take for those on the fence about travel. I share my own experience with educational tourism and how travel has been a passion ever since. Listeners can learn more about the programs available to those who are interested in seeking knowledge and gaining perspective from other countries and cultures.
What is Educational Tourism?
Educational tourism doesn’t have a concrete definition. It can be loosely defined as travel that’s been organized with learning as the motivation. Episode 12 shares information on different types of educational tourism programs including those for High School and College students. What I’ve learned 20 years into my adulthood is that learning never ends and educational tourism is a great way to continue exploring that. Educational tourism can also be beneficial for professional development. This is what got me on the other side of the Atlantic back in 2016.
Organizations like Education First and Road Scholar has something for everyone. An organization like Book Bag Tours helps teachers gain a variety of insights they can bring back to their classrooms. Interested in teaching abroad, but don’t know where to start. Taking a chance on educational tourism, might be a great way to learn about education systems in different countries.
