Episode 4

In episode 4 this week KJ talks about “where the money resides”. Before anyone can relocate, it’s important to know the salary that might be offered no matter your industry or experience. But as a teacher it’s also important to ask yourself what is it that you want from your salary. When you consider relocation, be sure to ask yourself some important questions in the planning process. This week KJ shares a few of her own. In episode 4 KJ also shares some resources about countries with the best salaries for teachers working at international schools and the best salaries for people who want to teach English.

Countries with the Best Teaching Salaries

In my search for the countries with the best teaching salaries I came across a few pleasant surprises. As stated in the podcast the list of countries differ based on whether it’s an international school where U.S. certified teachers can have a position or a TEFL academy. Unique to both lists for good salaries was Japan, which was a pleasant surprise. For the countries with the best salaries for teachers working at international schools, Switzerland, Japan, Dubai, Luxembourg and Spain were at the top of the list. For teachers who are interested in teaching English, the countries that were at the top of the list were, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam and the Gulf Arab States. If you head over to Teacher Horizons you can find, schools and jobs that suit your interests. It is also beneficial to join Facebook groups related to your teaching interests, schools and salaries.
