Making Pizza and Gelato with the Kids:

Looking to do something fun and hands-on with the kids while on vacation? Check out this Tuscan Farmhouse Pizza and Gelato Making Class!

We did so much and bonded over cooking, giving us a life-time experience we would never forget. But to begin we received a bus ride through Viator from the center of Florence into the Tuscan hills. This only took about 30 minutes but once we were there it was like we fell into a new country. The cooking class is definitely kid-friendly and the chefs are patient and encouraging.

The ingredients used in our pizza and gelato were all natural and organic. Some were picked right before our eyes before we made our way to the hill top kitchen. The children were able to prepare their own ingredients for their toppings. They could choose the amount of vegetables, or meats they wanted to put on the pizza. We also learned there is an art to how you place the meats and the cheeses on the crust and the size required for perfection. My children were able to try vegetables they wouldn’t usually try at home.

This was definitely a fun, healthy vacation experience that was very budget-friendly for me. Luca, one of our chefs pictured below with my son was very funny and entertaining. He made sure everyone was engaged in the pizza-making process.

Why I Would Book Again:

This activity was one of the best thing that happen to me and my family on our trip to Italy. Enjoying a slow afternoon of making pizza and gelato was exactly what the children needed after spending hours in Uffizi Gallery. The staff, chefs and location was perfect. Everyone treated us with respect. If anything they spoiled my children and treated them like royalty. Once you’ve made your pizza and gelato, you get a certificate to show how hard you worked and how much you ate. This was definitely an invaluable vacation experience my children will always remember.
