For me, winter is usually the time of year I stay home and truly hibernate. Weekend brunch is never at the top of my list of things to do. This year, things have changed and I’ve been out and about. And what I can say is, even in winter New Yorkers are still dining outdoors at the best restaurants in the city. Interested in finding the best places for weekend brunch this winter? Keep reading to learn more.

Balthazar:

Balthazar is one of my favorite places to have weekend brunch in New York City. The food is amazing and the vibe is always exciting, even when it’s cold outside. The food is French inspired, with items ranging from sweet to savory. Because Balthazar is one of the most popular restaurants in New York you have to book in advance and ensure you get there on time. Reservations are most certainly required.

Cafe Cluny:

Looking for a low-key cafĂ© with a French-inspired menu? One of New York’s best kept secrets, and one of my favorite places to eat in New York City, has to be Cafe Cluny There is something chic and relaxing about Cafe Cluny. I’ve been there several times and there’s something to love each time. The service is welcoming and the food is amazing. What more could you ask for. There’s no need to make reservations before 11am, but if you are coming after that time your best bet is to call in and reserve a table.

Lou Lou NYC:

There’s no better place in New York City for brunch than Lou Lou NYC. This place is a whole vibe no matter what time of year you visit. The food speaks for itself, the drinks menu will keep you coming back for more every weekend. My favorite dish has to be the eggs and the potatoes accompanied by some flavorful caipirinha. Want to add something else to the table? Try the steak frites or the baked camembert.

Prince Tea House:

There’s no weekend brunch list complete without some afternoon tea added to it. What I love about Prince Tea House is the variety of the menu. You have your choice of an afternoon tea menu with sweets and savories, desserts and tea. But you also have a menu of delicious brunch dishes like waffles, fruit salads, sandwiches and crepe cake that will keep you coming back for more.
