This was my first time heading to the New York City Wine and Food Festival. I always got sticker shock when I looked at the price in the past but knew I wanted to experience this at least once. And for what you get I’m convinced it’s worth it. Keep reading to find out what you get and what you can expect from this Food Network sponsored event.

Getting the Festival Tickets:

Purchase your tickets ahead of time. I purchased my tickets four months ahead to ensure they wouldn’t sell out. You can purchase your ticket online at nycwff.org. There are different levels to the tickets and what you get with each will blow your mind. From a variety of Food Network chef’s demonstrations to walk-around tastings, it was a dream experience worth every penny.

What You Get with the Tickets:

I purchased the grand tasting ticket. The ticket came with a large tote, a festival promotional cup and some other goodies and coupons. I also had a wristband for the demonstrations area. These were demonstrations by some of the chefs on foodnetwork. The walk-around tastings were and full sized cocktails were definitely the cherry on top for this experience. Being able to discover so many local restaurants has me craving for more.

What to Expect:

If you’re a fan of food and wine festivals, you can expect to find a large group of people who love food and wine as much as you do. If it’s your first time, you can also find a variety of food vendors and businesses from all over the country. My favorites were definitely the Black-owned businesses from the local New York City area. There were many vendors presenting a variety of foods and cocktails. My favorite certainly has to be the Taste of France area because I was able to try food I never thought I would, including escargots and foie gras. Try new things people, you never know what you will find.

Chef Demonstrations:

The chef demonstrations were also an interesting treat. Being able to watch a 30 minute demo with your favorite Food Network chef will bring the entire experience together. I sat front row to watch the Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, make a pumpkin spice cannoli cake. Sadly, I wasn’t able to try any, but there is always next time. After each demo you’re able to meet with each chef for book signings and pictures. If you don’t already have a book with you, you can purchase books at the festival from a local bookshop vendor.

Having made the decision to attend this year, I’m convinced I’ll be making this an annual event. Looking forward to 2023. If you’re thinking about some activities to do in New York, click here.
