How to Increasing Blog Traffic:

Pinterest has been the number one driver of traffic to my blog. I may get views through Google searches and Facebook links, but Pinterest brings in thousands of traffic each month. Here are some ways you can use Pinterest to get more people to your blog.

1. Create High Quality Content and Photos

Creating high quality vertical pins with beautiful, bright photos that are appealing to the eye is essential. Be sure to create high quality content that keeps your followers coming back for more. Your photos are a first impression of your blog, they must speak to the audience.

2. Know Your Audience

It’s so important to know your audience, it helps you to create content specific to their needs. Pinterest for business has great tools that help you analyze your monthly audience. These tools have helped me to determine the pins that do the best every month and how to recreate this success. The best part is, they also provide you with demographic information. Important data like where the shares, and re-pins are coming from and the gender/age range of your monthly audience.

3. Engage with Your Followers

Engage with your followers. Be sure to add pins constantly as well as re-pin quality pins from others that relate to your niche. I would recommend doing this daily, because it will increase the amount of times your pins are circulated on Pinterest.

4. Create Vertical Pins

Use the Canva website to create vertical pins. Sign up using email, Facebook or Google. Vertical pins tend to get the most shares on Pinterest.

5. Share Your Posts on a Blog Specific Board

Make sure you create a “Best of…” Board or a board specific to your blog and niche. This helps people to find pins specific to your blog post, sending them straight to your blog content.

  1. I need to get working on my vertical photos for posts. I have started to go back and make them for all of the posts but it is soooo time consuming.

  2. I am obsessed with using Canva, it’s the best $12-13 that I spend monthly for my blog. I use their templates and customize them for my vision and ideas. The thing that I enjoy about pinning to group boards is it forces me to interact with the other content in the boards.
